Seeing Mom

Tonight we went to see my mom. She is in a local nursing home and has Alzheimer's. It is tough to see her going through this. She was a longtime teacher and very sharp. Now she appears to know no one, even her kids. The staff at the nursing home take good care of her. Mom hasn't been eating very much and has lost weight. She has a deep cough and is on some medications for it. I am sure many families are going through the same things as we are. It is a very strange disease, isn't it?
