Food

Isn't summer wonderful for food? It's a great time for awesome salads, grilling and fruit. I got some freshly picked sweet corn yesterday. My husband and I agreed that it had to be the best corn we've ever eaten! It was amazing!! So sweet and perfectly aged. We'll take some to the kids this weekend. :)

Actos lawsuit

It seems the danger that many of these drug companies have is that while their research leads to some breakthroughs in cures for serious diseases, they also carry a high risk for causing other serious illnesses. Unfortunately, these side effects aren't typically known until the drug has already been in production and effected many people. Recently, the oral diabetes drug, Actos, was found to have done just this. It is also called ActoplusMet, Competact and Duetact and is linked to heart attacks, heart failure and increased risk of bladder cancer. Not things to be taken lightly. These could result in Actos lawsuits. The chemical name of Actos is Pioglitazone, so take note and inform others.

Pool Time!

With it being so hot and humid lately, Grammy and the grand kids decided to cool off! We had fun out in the pool in our back yard. The kids were jumping and screaming. They all loved it!

Humidity!

We went with our family to a local parade recently. Boy, was it ever hot and humid. While trying to take some photos we found it difficult to keep the lens from fogging up. I did get some with out the moisture.

Multaq lawsuit

Did anyone else run across the information that the Food & Drug Administration recently released, in reference to the medicine Multaq? I know they release a lot of information and it is unlikely, unless you were one of the healthcare professionals that received the information on January 4, 2011, that anyone saw the information. But, man is it important. The drug Multaq has been connected with rare cases of liver damage. If you don't know what symptoms of liver damage are, take note. They can include stomach pain, weakness, shortness of breath, redness, difficulty breathing, rashes, diarrhea, rapid weight gain, and slowed heartbeat. This information could likely lead to many Multaq lawsuits. If you or anyone you know has taken this drug, it would be a good idea to keep them informed on the findings.

Play Time

The grand kids were all over recently. They have so much fun together! Israel loved this mailbox. He would sort the mail, put them in the correct openings and sometimes not. hehehe... He was having a great time!

Golfing

There are those people that love to golf, those that enjoy the game but are not fanatic about it and those that don't understand why anyone would want to play the game. That is just my opinion of course. My husband is on the side of loving golf. He would go play every day if he could.
He has only had three sets of clubs in his life. He claims that his current set is better because they are a name brand. His other clubs had actually been made by a friend. He calls them knock off clubs because they resemble name brand but have a different name on them. I really don't know if it makes his golfing any better by using a club with a certain name on them. Does the ball really care what is hitting it? There are a lot of neat accessories out there on the market also.
I am sure you can tell which group I am in. You are right if you said the one that enjoys golf but isn't a fanatic. For those that are enthusiastic about golf, good for you. I am sure there are worse things to occupy ones time than golf.

SOLD!!!

Our daughter and her husband have been trying to sell their home for almost two years now. Within a week they have a buyer and have purchase a new home! It's so exciting!!!

Face Painting

Our son and his wife would like to adopt. They have been trying to raise money for the adoption. They're going around to fairs, town celebrations and farmers markets on the weekends. They are painting faces and making balloon animals. Here Di has painted Kaelyn's face. :)

A face of joy!

We began our weekend meeting our son's and family at Whiskey Creek. Yum! Then on Sat. morning we headed out to the Puckerbrush parade! The grand kids loved it, but it was very warm out. Heading up town we found something to eat and watched Josh and Diana painting faces and making balloon animals. Kaelyn had a face of joy showing off her newly painted face by Aunt Di! To cool off we headed home to play in the pool and sprinklers. This is Emry's face of joy! So sweet to see how happy they were.... The cousins had so much fun together. We grilled out and decided that the mosquitoes were so bad that we would skip the fireworks. Off to church in the morning and caught a nap in the afternoon. Then enjoyed a supper with ham roast, cheesy potatoes and corn on the cob! We also had birthday cake. It was Bill's birthday also! What an awesome weekend and great to have everyone home!

Summer with water sprinklers

Summer has been my favorite season of the year for all of my life. I've always been someone who's loved being outdoors and doing active things. It's just much easier to do most of my favorite activities during the summer that way. I've tried to raise my family too. When my grandkids come and visit us during the summer, they know for sure that grandpa is up for taking them on just about any kind of outdoor adventure that they'd like to try.

One thing though that I wanted to do was come up with some fun outdoor things that we could do just at the house. Once I read through it some I thought that maybe it was about time to actually get hearing aids like I've been thinking about doing for a while now, so I set up a hearing aid test to see if I need them.

I got the idea to buy a summer water sprinkler and have a little fun in it with the grandkids. Sometimes the most fun are the simplest things.

iPod

Do you own an iPod? We are on our second one. The first one was not the newest model so we upgraded. There are a few features that the newer iPod has that weren't included in the old one. One that is really fun to use is the facetime feature. It allows you to make calls to an iPhone or another iPod for free using video. How cool is that? We are totally enjoying it.

LCD tvs

I spent the weekend with my twin sister! We always have the best time! We talk and catch up on all that's been going on. We went shopping all day on Saturday in the big city. My oldest brother has moved down there so we surprised them and stopped in. They have moved into a beautiful new home. As we walked through they had purchased new LCD tvs for many of the rooms. They really looked nice.

Jake and Nee

My son and his girlfriend enjoyed the farm. We all went out for the weekend to our oldest son's acreage. We had a great time together!

Blue Sky Scrubs

After working in a dental office for many years, I have seen a lot of changes. Technology has progressed as well as our uniforms. We started out wearing strictly white. Then we wore a white or blue lab coat with white slacks.
It has been in discussion lately as to what new and discounted scrubs we might find. We have continued wearing some of the same colors for a few years now. Some are wanting to change to brighter colors and some feel we are in need of prints. What ever is chosen, it's great to have websites like http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/ to shop at. Casey Anthony Trial

Many people have been watching the Casey Anthony criminal trial on television. Do you really think it is necessary to have the trial televised like it has been? Depending on who you talk to you will get different responses. Whatever happened to little Caylee could remain a mystery. It is a sad situation.

Crowd Control

Have you ever been at a sporting event, concert or even a Fair where they have had to control the crowd in some fashion? Well, recently my daughter-in-law, my grandsons and I were at a County Fair. They have what they call a Scramble, where the little kids run and scramble to grab a bunny. If they get one then they can keep it. The crowd was great and the people were shoving to get towards the front. Some sort of Stanchions was needed in this case.
Crowd control is very important so that people are not falling and possibly being hurt in the process. At concerts and sporting events you can find the same sort of problem arise. With barricades in place, they can shuffle the crowd in a certain direction, causing order and an even flow of traffic.
Airports also use some of these technique when forming lines throughout check-in. A velvet rope or barricades are often used there. It's important to have order for the well-being of everyone.

New Phone

Recently my husband got a new cell phone. It is a Blackberry Bold. It has so many features that his old one didn't have that it is taking time to figure the thing out. I looked at it and wasn't real keen on the little keys. I am sure when you get used to them they aren't too bad. I hope he likes it.

Security

We all want to feel secure. Our homes are our safe haven. Many years ago most people didn't even bother to lock their door. Up until just a few years ago I didn't think to lock my car doors when leaving it set. Then one day I walked out of work, in broad daylight, only to find that someone had broken into my vehicle. Needless to say, I now lock up my car when leaving it.
