Anti-virus

My husband stopped in to help Mom with the anti-virus on the laptop. It takes a long time to install it. She went to supper while it ran. Going to get a mouse installed for it too. It all takes time but things are going well.

It is about time to get a new cell phone. There is so much new technology out there today that you can hardly keep up with it. I want a phone with long range wireless technology and I would love one with walkman music player. I like taking photos and sharing them with my friends too and a color camera with optical zoom with be great. They now have Razr phones that are ultra thin and a cell phone that lets you watch tv would be great. Well, I have been looking in this site Wirefly's top 10 cell phones and they have the best selection and the Top 10 cell phones. Of course Motorola's Black Razr is one of the best with long range wireless technology and an optical zoom lense on the color camera, besides being so ultra slim, I can slip it in my purse or pocket and hardly know it is there. Motorola's Gray Motorazr has my eye too as it has my Faves compatible device. The Soni Ericsson w300i appeals to me too with the Walkman Music Player. There are just too many to choose from so I am going to have to pick my favorite options and the best contract for me and then pick out one of these beautiful phones. I forgot to mention another one that has me looking and that is the LG Chocolate. It is so stylish with soft-touch controls, very feminine. This one will let you watch tv or listen to streaming music. Help me. I can't decide.

Homemade Soup

I made some delicious homemade chicken noodle soup. It is perfect for these cold winter days. I sent a big container of it home with my folks. They love it too. I also made some bars that turned out so well. Mom said they are delicious too.

Accident

My Mom's friend fell Saturday night and broke her hip. She couldn't get up and finally crawled to her bed and called for help about 9:00 AM. She has a very weak heart and they had to check with her cardiologist because she had to have surgery on Monday. She was able to have the surgery and she did just fine. She is recovering in the hospital now. She is 89 years old.

Greatest Soap Operas

One of the greatest soap operas on television today is All My Children. It premiered on ABC on January 5, 1970 and celebrated its 35th Anniversary on January 5, 2005. Two of the longest staying members of the cast are Susan Lucci who plays Erica Kane and Ray MacDonald who plays Dr. Joe Martin on the program. To celebrate their 35th Anniversary the cast put on for charity, a Benefit Concert supporting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDs and raised a grand total of $250,000. It is one of daytimes most compelling dramas on television today. It has won over 30 Emmy Awards and I am sure will win even more for their talented cast and producers. This show is committed to inumerable social issues. Just to mention a few such as abortion, Vietnam MIAs, organ donations, and a great many more. All My Children made television history with the first same sex kiss, surprising many viewers. They travel the world, as well, to film on many remote locations of interest to us. Another feature of the program is that they have had so many wonderful celebrities appear on their program,too many to list here. Don't miss tomorrow, Tuesday, January 30, as there will be a shocking twist in the slayer case. I just have to say here that my favorite charactor has been Erica Kane and I am sure she is a favorite of a great many as she is the sassy, beautiful woman you love to hate.

Bad Weather

It is still bad weather out there. They say it will last until at least 10:00 this morning and I have to be at work at 8:00 so have to get going. Will be another busy day at work today.

General Hospital Blog

When I was a young girl, newly married, and beginning a family, the highlight of my afternoon was the program General Hospital. I couldn't wait from one day to the next to see what was going to happen on the program. Frank and Doris Hursley are the creators of the program, held in the fictional city of Port Charles, New York. NBC began its own medical soap opera "The Doctors" at the same time ABC launched General Hospital on April 1, 1963. However, General Hospital has been the longest running American soap opera on ABC television network and not only that but the longest running soap opera produced in Hollywood. The actors have been superb and keep your attention. Thanks to this program, I have taken an interest in many other medical programs as they came along evenings, but General Hospital is still Number One. Many movie stars have appeared on this program adding more interest and excitement. They have been on the cutting edge in soaps, face-paced, covering many social issues and furnishing the viewers with action packed programs and adventure plots. Heavy Winds

It was not supposed to snow today but we had very heavy flurries and very high winds and it was just like a whiteout. There were a number of accidents on the interstate and the National Weather Bureau has put out a warning about bad visibility. I am glad I don't have to go anywhere tonight.

We, here in the United States are used to going to the store and picking up audio books and books on CD but in the UK if you went in and asked for these, they would probably give you a funny look. That is because in the UK these are called "talking books" which I think is quite a good name for them. We are using Netflix rental too but they are new to this. Monday

Back to work today. It is snow flurrying a little bit. I work in a very interesting dentist office. I get to meet lots of people and answer alot of phones. Somes days it is alot of fun and most days it is alot of work.

Re-arranging the Furniture

We have been busy moving the entertainment center from the family room to the living room. Also moving the DVD player and other stuff and hope we got it all hooked up right again. We get our new big 51" TV Friday. I can hardly wait.

Soap Opera

The Young and the Restless program has been around for a good many years. It has always been my favorite and I always hate it when I have to miss it. It is exciting, full of intrigue,suspense, and all the dramatics of a program that keeps you on the edge of your seat, waiting to see what is going to happen next.
Sometimes it is hard to keep up with who is in love with who or what the next breakup is but there is always something to grab your attention and keep you wanting to tune in again tomorrow to see it. the actors are a very talented group and many have been together for many years. New Vehicle

I love my new vehicle. It is just great for getting around this winter on slippery roads and hills. It has so much storage space too. And I sit up higher so I can have a much better view of the road. I am so glad we got it for me.

Tired

It's snow flurrying again and they say it could amount to an inch or so. That's more than my idea of a snow flurry. I have enough to suit me till Spring.
