New Grandbaby

We are really getting very excited about our 5th grandbaby that is on the way. He or she will be born next Tuesday and we are counting down the days. When our daughter goes to the hospital, we are planning to go to their home and take care of our two grandchildren and then also stay and help cook, clean and assist her and her husband with anything they need. It will be so neat to have a new baby to cuddle again. We are so excited!!!

Fresh Pie

It's getting to be that time of year when a fresh apple pie is soooo good! The fruit is ripe and ready for the picking. This year however, we no longer have our wonderful apple tree. I guess we'll have to go and buy some apples for that pie. :)

Oatmeal

Not every one likes to eat hot oatmeal, but Bill really enjoys it. He adds brown sugar and milk. I am not a big fan of it, but it is supposed to be good for you. It is so easy to make and quick too. Bill made some and tried to give it to our grand daughter, but she wasn't very interested either. The most we use oatmeal for is when we make cookies. I do love it in those. :)

Cooking

My daughter was baking a chicken for supper tonight. She gave me a call to ask me some questions about it. I can remember when I was first married I used to call my mother too and matter of fact, I still do sometimes. We're never to old to learn something from our mothers.

Homemade Soup

I made some delicious homemade chicken noodle soup. It is perfect for these cold winter days. I sent a big container of it home with my folks. They love it too. I also made some bars that turned out so well. Mom said they are delicious too.
