Christmas Lights

This year we didn't hang as many Christmas lights outside.  My husband was happy about that.  There have been years that we probably over lighted our house so this is a nice change I guess.  We have neighbors that still put hundreds of lights on their home, some that are multicolored.  They look very nice but I am glad those lights are on their homes and not ours. 

Easter Came Early

Easter came early for our grandchildren. They didn't mind. :)

New Years!

We usually try to get together with our kids for New Years. This year was not different. We bring all kinds of goodies and celebrate bringing in the new year eating and playing games together. We caught the kids checking out all of the goodies.

Peacock Alley

With family coming home for the Holidays, I've been working on the house some. In shopping I saw some awesome looking fine linens. They carried peacock alley, John Atkinson and more. When everyone is home we have a house full and it's nice if we all sleep well. I think we're about ready for Christmas now!

Christmas Cookies

I got all my Christmas baking done. I mostly bake cookies but there are some bars too. We give some away but they are nice to have in the freezer for us too. We all seem to have our favorites. I think my husband enjoys the molasses cookies most of all but he will eat any of them. I like them all too.

Christmas Cards

I got my Christmas letter and cards done and mailed last week. We are starting to receive some in the mail too. I love to read each one and find out how family and friends are doing. Some of them we don't get to see all that often. I enjoy hanging them up as we get them. They look nice and colorful for the Christmas season.

What Fun!

Over Thanksgiving we were blessed to have all of our children home with us. The laughter filled the house. The grandchildren are so sweet. To capture a picture with all of them looking is quite the task. But well worth spending the time trying! :)

While people were shopping in a Mall in New York, they were surprised by what they heard! I thought this was really neat!

Zappos

Tis the Season! The Christmas music has begun to play and the Malls are beginning to fill with shoppers. Starting a Christmas list can be interesting. Deciding on what to buy for each loved one and friend can be a chore. For the past couple of years now I have found it to be much easier and less stressful to shop online. The Zappos website is a wonderful and user-friendly site to shop on.
While browsing there I found that they carry Burberry Shoes and other brand names. From flip flops to boots, they seem to have it all. I enjoy looking through all of the styles and colors they offer. They have clothing, accessories and even house ware items. There’s so much to see.
I think one of my favorite things about this site is that it offers free shipping on all domestic orders. That doesn't mean that the shipment will take longer, but it does mean it can save me money. You can't beat that. I will definitely be looking into the variety of stock that they offer!

Happy Halloween!

Halloween is not one of my favorite holidays, however it is fun to see our grandkids all dressed up. Kaelyn was Dorothy from the Wiz of Oz (I loved her hair and outfit), Emry was an Army guy (wearing some patches from his great Grandpa Forrest), Kaden was a timid Lion (suited him) and Israel was a Park Ranger(he looked so cute). Kaelyn was freezing in this picture. It was chilly outside.

Christmas Time

Isn't it fun to watch children at Christmas time? They are in awe of most everything. Our grandson Emry was enjoying their tree and all of the lights!

Happy Resurrection Day!! He is Risen! Praise God, He is alive!!
We had a wonderful time with our family this weekend. I had found a new recipe for all of those that love chocolate. It was a hit! Yum Yum..........

Brownie Mix
1 can sweet and condensed milk 8oz
1 Lg box instant chocolate pudding
1 Hershey Chocolate bar
12oz Cool Whip
8oz Cool Whip
1 Cup Water
Make brownies according to the box directions, let cool, and then break up into small pieces
Mix sweet and condensed milk, pudding mix, 8oz cool whip, and 1 cup water
Layer brownie, pudding mixture, and plain cool whip then top with chocolate shavings
Let cool in refrigerator for a few hours then enjoy!

Food

There are so many things to do and remember when preparing for the Christmas season. We have wrapping, shopping, decorating, Christmas letters and baking and cooking. As the day draws near I find myself trying to organize gifts and menus. I need to gather my thoughts and start a grocery list for some of the meals I may be preparing over the holidays. Food is a huge part of the celebration. With family gatherings and children returning home, I better get started!

Mary did you know?

I love music and all that it can bring and mean. At Christmas time one of my favorite songs is called "Mary did you know?" by Mark Lowrey. It says so much. Take time this Christmas season to click in and listen to this wonderful song.

Christmas Cheer!

It's so special to watch children at Christmas time! Everything is exciting and new. Our grand daughter Kaelyn was recently helping her parents with decorating for Christmas. She couldn't seem to take her eyes off of all of the sparkle and glitter. It is going to be a very special Holiday Season.

Christmas Lighting

How exciting! My son and his wife live in the south. They will be traveling home to the snow country soon, for Christmas! They decided to put up their Christmas decorations early so that they could enjoy them for a little while. Their son, Emry has not experienced all of the lights and beautiful decorations before. He recently turned one. He was quite intrigued by the brightness of the lights! It's going to be a great Christmas!
